The world we live in is getting more complicated eachday. Distances are shorter, times are faster.
Globalization of cultures and operations is a reality, independently from our judgement of it. Increasingly, it is necessary to think and operate not only in European terms, but also world-wide terms.
The Bachelor of International Economics, Management and Finance, entirely taught in English, enables students to analyze and understand these complex dynamics thanks to a solid preparation focusing on enterprises and public and private institutions operating internationally. The program gives students an in-depth assessment of the structure of the economic and financial system from a European and international perspective, providing them with the tools needed to deal with the mechanisms which regulate the process of integration of different economies, firms and institutions. We strive to create a profile of decision makers who are equally at ease in any country and setting. Because each student chooses a major in Economics, Management or Finance, they learn how to deal with a wide range of problems and issues.
Common subject basis
The program structure of this phase features the same subjects as all the Bachelor programs that share a common basis, with courses taught in English.
These courses teach students the basic concepts in economics and management and provide a solid foundation in law, mathematics and statistics. An essential perspective is offered by the economic history course.
Characteristics of the Bachelor program
In this second phase, the study program develops main topics regarding international economics, management and finance. In these core courses, students study the dynamics and determining factors of the global economy: growth, inflation, unemployment, and fiscal and monetary macroeconomic instruments. They also analyze political and economic integration processes in Europe and in international markets. The institutional, administrative and constitutional contexts, social dynamics, rules and regulations operating in European and non-European markets are all examined from a comparative point of view.
Personalization of study track
At the end of the first semester of the second year, students choose between a major in management, economics or finance, each including 6 courses. The program is completed with 2 elective courses (one of which may be substituted by an internship) and the final paper.
The objective of the Bachelor of International Economics, Management and Finance (BIEMF) is to give a sound, integrated grounding and preparation in the areas of economics, management and finance, and to allow in-depth studies in one of the three areas, according to personal interest.
The aim is to prepare students to think globally and to analyse each theme both individually and as part of a broader context, where the key word is interaction. The program will help students develop a global, international, integrated approach, through the use of comparative techniques, paying particular attention to institutional themes.
Specifically the objective of the program is to provide: a solid grounding in the areas of business, economics, quantitative analysis and law, in an international context, emphasizing where possible, the comprehension of institutional themes that distinguish Europe; a solid grounding which provides:
BIEMF graduates can apply for a graduate programme or turn to the job market. The main career opportunities are:
